Isn't the Tang L platform called Super-E? I thought DMO was for body-on-frame SUVs and PHEV-only.

The Tang L caters to a slightly different customer group, but I guess the Xiaomi defies all class boundaries.

Is there an error in the article? "180 kW fast charging" I thought it should be like 10C super fast speed?

BYD is a decent looking vehicle. It is just a different segment. Not sexy sporty vehicle, but rather boxy practical SUV with heaps of room in the trunk and 7 seater arrangement, almost people mover. These sell in smaller numbers usually. A better match to Xiaomi YU7 would be BYD sealion 7 or Han L I think

The problems of BYDs in the export markets are slow charging speed and poor efficiency, if they solved that they are going to sell well still.

Fantastic car, but they can make it better with a few changes: 1. Design it with better aerodynamics, 2. Only full electric version, 3. Longer range, 4. Improve design drastically (learn from YU 7), 5. Decrease weight.
Almost all of them are correlated to each other, thus it makes total sense that they introduce these changes.

BYD should change the game. Go back to basics. Cut out all the gimmicks, simply give better range, fast charging, low cost and competitive aesthetics
