In this case, it is firmly in the ultra luxury category where pure ICE competitors (Cullinan, Bentayga) don't way much less despite the 9X having two entire powertrains.

As for other Chinese EVs, the majority of them use heavier but more environmentally friendly and ethical LFP battery chemistry, have to pass a battery impact test (China exclusive), and pass C-NCAP which is harder than Euro NCAP. They're usually much larger vehicles than the European market because Chinese buyers value rear legroom, as they frequently transport several adults at a time rather than just the driver.

Imo Chinese achieve range becsuse of very large battery packs…..as a result most EV'S weigh more than 2500kg or even far more. That is not the way to go, nothing to do with progress or modern day engineering…….. .
