]]>It wasn't officially confirmed by Aito, but I reckon that the new M7 stands on the same platform as the M9 and M8. The new M7's wheelbase was stretched by 210 mm. This dramatic change doesn't look like a refresh or facelift. Bearing in mind that the outgoing model stood on the platform of the petrol-powered Fengon ix7 car, it seems hardly possible to make that large adjustment without changing the platform.

Though the actual opening itself is already shaped like the new version, the current one has lots of empty space on both sides:
